Why we created Golden Valley
For more than a decade, our team has worked side by side with people with developmental disabilities, in homes, in programs and out in the community. Over those years, two things stayed with us.
The first was the people we served. So many had big hearts, real talents and a strong wish to do more: to work, to help others, to make their own choices and to be part of the world around them. Too often, their days didn't give them that chance.
The second was their families. We met parents, siblings and grandparents who gave everything, every single day, often with no break and no one to call. We saw how tired they were, and how much they loved the person they cared for.
Golden Valley grew out of those two things. We chose the name because the Sacramento valley is home, and because we wanted our services to feel like sunshine on a hard day: warm, steady and dependable.
